About Me

Born in Belgrade, Serbia (former Yugoslavia), in the late sixties.
Graduated at the Faculty of Philology, in the Group for Yugoslav and World Literature.
Worked as a teacher, copywriter, lecturer, editor, real estate agent, insurance manager, door-to-door salesperson of anything and everything ... – in my nearly fifteen years working experience I changed more than ten jobs in many fields.
Meanwhile I was writing a bit, and had published two books: “As the souls wandered”, a short novel published in 1994, and “LP (Long Play) -- personal stories” published in 2005. Recently, I published the first novel about my tour titled “Wheel me Around The World” and soon will be translate into English.
If I do not take into account my first kid’s bike, Pony, I started biking seriously in 1993, when my parents gave me a second-hand, ten-speed bike made by Slovenian “Rog” – a green Senior, for my graduation.
I discovered cyclo-touring in the middle of 2006, and since then biking became part of my way of life.
From the moment the idea of cycling around the world emerged in my mind, nobody could stop me from doing it. I focused all my thoughts, energy and capabilities on finding a way to make it happen.
About three years I have been trying to find a way to do it. Finally, in July 2011 I set off on a tour around the world and my adventure is still going.
There was no higher ideal or goal hiding behind this idea – I do not think that my travels using an ecologically friendly medium will save this planet, I am not seeking answers to the eternal human question about its purpose, I do not expect my adventurous life to become somebody’s paradigm. I simply, like to ride a bike, to write, to draw, to meet new people and to do things that make me happy. Life is too short and we have only one.
I named the tour GEA because of my ideas about the Earth and the sky, about people and gods originate from the Greek mythology. I have been always fascinated by the power of Gaea, the Great Mother of Earth, the goddess of all goddesses who arose after Chaos and who then, created all other deities. Maybe it was not a coincidence when I discovered that her name is also an acronym for Geography – Ecology – Adventure which I have used as a maxim for my expedition. GEA is all of this together, but primarily it denotes the female’s principle.
There is no planned itinerary; there is no projected number of kilometers that need to be passed in a day, a week, a month or in a year. I ride as long as I enjoy it; then I stop and make a break, make friends with people, take photographs, write, draw…. I wake up with a smile, no alarm clock nearby, and I am never, ever in a hurry. I have my entire life to do the most important thing in the world – to live my dream.
