We like to meet other people from all over the world.

ABOUT ME

We are a couple in our fifties. We speak several languages and we like to meet people from all over the world. Since our two children have left home, we have plenty of space in our big house. We live with two female cats (Sofi and Yuki) and a male dog (Argo).

PHILOSOPHY

An ancient Roman playwriter said: "I'm a human being, I consider nothing that is human alien to me".
We deeply agree with this view and that's why we like to meet people from other countries and other cultures.
We also believe that we are "social animals" and that meeting other people also help us to know ourselves better.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We think that CS is a great idea! It proves that there are things that money can't buy: friendliness, openness, the pleasure of sharing a few moments together...
We can host up to 2 people with 1 or 2 children.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I (Luisa) was a student, I did couch surfing, although it dind't officially exist yet. In the USA I slept in the living room of a fellow student, until I found a place to rent during my semester abroad at University of Delaware. And in my student flat in Zurich I sometime hosted other students who were travelling through Switzerland.

Intereses

I (Luisa) have a flair for philosophy, while Francesco (my husband) loves working in his wineyard during his free time. We also love travelling around the world.

Francesco is an active volunteer of Emergency, an independent NGO, founded in Italy to provide high quality and free of charge medical care to the war and poverty victims:(www.emergencych.org),(www.emergency.it)

Música, películas y libros

We love music: classical, Italian (Fabrizio de André in particular), Latin American, songs of the 60s and 70s...
We are bookworms and we have a library room in our home. We read essays, novels, biographies, literature, poetry...
We also love movies: "Dead poets society" and "Fresa y chocolate" are among my favourites films (Luisa); Francesco loves TV-serials like "The Sopranos".

Amazing things seen: Machu Pichu in Peru, Isfahan in Iran, Zen gardens in Kyoto, Sassi di Matera (Luisa). Lybian desert, Syria, Jordan (Francesco). Together: Amalfi at sunset, Alhambra in Granada, Mezquita of Cordoba, Palatine Chapel in Palermo, Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the sunset in Halong Bay in Vietnam, Burma's pagodes.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Of course we like people who share our view of life, whatever their culture, language or nationality is. But we also like to be faced with different ways of thinking. Just one condition: we don't like intolerant, dogmatic people who think to have the Truth in their pocket.
