About Me
CURRENT MISSION
finding and sharing new experiences in an ongoing effort to learn more about the world and my own existence so that I can interact with the world and those in it in a deeper and more fulfilling manner.
ABOUT ME
A child of the Chicago Suburbs, I grew up in a relatively stereotypical way. School by day, soccer and other activities at night. A generally easy going attitude and relaxed demeanor has brought me to be a pretty chill person. I am equally comfortable in a casual, sit down environment as I am in a fast paced adventurous moment. Whether it is sitting by a lake or in a park enjoy some good bread or hiking over mountains you will find a smile on my face. In addition, I am capable of seeing multiple sides to a situation which has given me a strong perspective on many things, though often a lack of a solid opinion on them. I attempt to see the depth rather than find a simple answer to a question. In seeking this I find that I really enjoy meeting new people and seeing where their passions and beliefs are.
PHILOSOPHY
If you are going to bother with being alive you might as well enjoy your time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had quite a few conversations with couchsurfers that I have met about it but I have had no direct experiences myself. I have been a little slow getting up and started wtih it, too much enjoyment of lazy afternoons as impeded my progress.
Interests
I started my University education less than enthralled with life and decided that this needed to change. I have since sought excitement, adventure, and personal expression and exploration in all that I do. Some activities that I have found to be wonderful to me include baking (nothing quite as nice as freshly baked muffins), coffee houses, dancing (primarily Lindy hop, though on occasion i branch out a bit), bowling (just kinda like throwing big things at little things), Hiking-backpacking, cool breezes, hanging out in parking lots, going for walks to new places, sitting around lazily on boats (if you have not tried this it is a must!), good conversation, playing music with others, listening to music, jumping over things, finding out new things you have not tried, fixing things, and a good group of people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: rather than provide a long list here I will just say that I enjoy movies that provide some new view into life, ones that present a larger than life hero, movies made before 1960, Hitchcock, cartoons, simply silly films, and movies about bowling.
Music: A classically trained musician, my past music experiences are a bit saturated by dead white men. I realize I need to branch out a bit and I have begun listening more to blues, swing, bebop, cool jazz, funk and some modern pop. I have an interest in hearing more classical ensembles playing modern compositions as well as exploring new types of dance music. In addition, I would like to find out about more rock and modern popular-underground music. It is something I know little about and have often been held back by simply not knowing where to start.
Books: I really enjoy the idea of reading and I like books a lot. I have found though that I have made little time in my life for reading and I think this may need to be fixed. I guess I will have more thoughts on this later.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like dancing, and I would like to share it with everyone I meet.
