Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make some new friends and help them out while they visit the Blacksburg area.
ABOUT ME
I'm a current graduate student at Virginia Tech in Computer Engineering. I grew up with Polish immigrant parents in the Chicago area, which always made me feel like I was straddling two cultures, which inspired me to continuously try to learn more about other cultures. I am very open to new experiences and ideas, and I love to get to really know people.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to help others. I have realized that I get more fulfillment out of helping others reach there goals than pursuing my own.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although I signed up two years ago, my previous roommates were not interested in hosting people. I now have a new roommate who is also interested in meeting cool new people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I only recently couchsurfed myself, but I was originally introduced to CSing after I hung out with a big CS group in Munich who were having a birthday party in a park. I went hiking with a CSer while my friend hosted him. Ever since, I've been starting to host and have had good experiences. I also had a good time surfing a couple of times in Milwaukee so far.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many, but I tend to like science fiction (e.g., Vonnegut, Asimov), experimental music (e.g., Animal Collective) and movies (e.g., Upstream Color).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I hiked to the top of a mountain near Lake Geneva that had a spectacular view of the lake and Mount Blanc. On the way back, my friend and I lost our way and stumbled into France for a little bit.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like talking about languages with people and sharing my thoughts/experiences learning new ones. I'm willing to teach people any of my hobbies (e.g., juggling, slacklining). I guess I also know a lot about computer vision and machine learning, too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like outdoorsy things (e.g., hiking, slacklining), so I can do any of those. I cook and bake often, so I can always bribe you with food. :)
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Finland, Poland, South Korea, Switzerland
Countries I’ve Lived In
