ABOUT ME

I thought I was a quiet and thoughtful person, yet when I mentioned this to a close friend, she burst out laughing! Hopefully, she did not think I was loud and thoughtless, as these are most unappealing qualities to me. I think I'm a mixture of lots of polar opposites, I enjoy going out, socialising with friends and dancing the night away as much as I enjoy an evening in, relaxing, taking a long, drawn out bath and reading a book. I'm a mental health nurse, but never thought I would end up in this profession. I thought I'd be a lawyer, then an artist or an actress. I love my job, but am taking a year off to experience the World, de-stress and have a fantastic adventure at the same time! I'm a typical Piscean, when I believe in astrology!

PHILOSOPHY

I love this prayer, though I am not religious nor in Alcoholics Anonymous who use this prayer in their philosophy:

God, grant me the Serenity to accept those things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can
and Wisdom to know the difference.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this, as only discovered it through making travelling plans. I think the philosopy is wonderful and I feel priveleged to be a part of such an amazing collective of people. I'm travelling the World, starting on 1st Feb 2010 and would love to stay with people along my way. I'm also looking forward to my return, so that I can start hosting myself!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't think of just one thing! Being present at the birth of my friend's baby, canoeing on a loch in Scotland seal watching, seeing other people enjoying themselves and having fun - a friend of mine saw two 80ish year old men having fun running and skidding on the ice yesterday, that sounds pretty amazing to me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could help people learn the English language. I have a degree in Mental Health Nursing. I would especially love to learn Spanish, surfing and scuba diving, but I am keen to learn and expand my knowledge on anything and everything really!
