About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Knock off on time and have more time for myself

ABOUT ME

I love travelling.
I love food.
I love films.
I love musuems.
I love to sleep.
I love my DSLR.
I love my weekends.
I love people around.

For travelling, I agree with Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, "It is far better to stay in a city for four or five days than to visit five cities in a week. A city is like a capricious woman: she takes time to be seduced and to reveal herself completely."

PHILOSOPHY

Bear the responsiblity of my choices.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Ask me anything about Singapore! Hear it from the horse's mouth. I can introduce you some "not-so-touristy" places too.

You have to visit Pulau Ubin, an outlying island which is 20 minutes boat ride of Singapore mainland. There are only 30 residents remaining in this island currently, and they are in their seventies. You better be quick!

You can't leave Singapore without making a trip to the hawker centre and trying the local food. My all-time favourites are: Laksa, Char Kuay Teow, Prawn Mee and Chai Tow Kway.

I always find a map of the metro very useful when I am planning my overseas trip. So here's the official link to Singapore's MRT system for my foreign friends:

I love exploring the city by foot, if you do so too, here's a free of charge walking tour in Singapore:

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfers allow me to have a glimpse of local life.
I love long solo trips, and it gets a little lonely but not with great CS-ers who have been kind enough to meet me. CS made 16 days in Taiwan and 19 days in USA wonderful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Oldies. Both English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Carpenters, BeeGees, 蔡琴,邓丽君,郑少秋,罗文,梅艳芳。

All movies except for horror. Love Actually, The Reader, Blindness, Sex and the City, Red Door, About Time, ????.

Self-improvement books, romances, Paulo Coelho. ???

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure if I would say it is amazing, but certainly memorable. The cook slashing the throat of a chicken before dinner. Living in the city, I only see featherless chickens in the supermart. A reminder to travel more!

Teach, Learn, Share

I never go overseas without a raffia string. It is a good replacement for cloth hangers, rubber band and even door stopper!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Singapore
