ABOUT ME

I ran across this site on accident one day and thought it was pretty cool! I LOVE LOVE to travel. If I could quit school and not have a job I would just travel around the world. I am a high school English teacher,I coach Improv and run the speech and debate club at my school. I would LOVE to go to Spain or Mexico and teach English(language). With the poor state of funding for education right now in Colorado, I am looking for other options. I want to teach overseas! I'm looking at places in the UK, UAE, and Spain. I love reading and writing. One of my favorite things is meeting new people so hopefully I will be able to make tons of new friends on here!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that I need to live life to the fullest. I truly like to experience everything that happens to me and I think everything that does happen, happens for a reason. Learning about new cultures and people is so exciting and helps create a more open-minded person.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started off rather slow getting into this, but now that I've done quite a bit I want to continue! I've met up with locals in various places who have showed me around.
I am looking forward to hosting people in my city! I want to show people around Denver and help them have a great time!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Denver: I've met and hung out with a couple local CSers. I'm planning on do this more now! I've also been sending out invites to people traveling in Denver and hope to get a surfer soon!

In Mexico: When I studied Spanish in Mexico I met up with some local CSers who showed me around Mexico and we became fast friends and hung out the entire time I was there!

In Canada: In Ottawa I've met up with so many locals and done things like: going to a Celtic musical festival, going to a picnic and watching Shakespeare in the Park, going hiking/biking/picnicking, watching the light show at Parliament and getting drinks. It's been amazing!

Interests

EVERYTHING!!! Obviously traveling, reading, writing, movies, being outdoors, watching tv, music, theater, swing dancing, baseball(LOVE THE COLORADO ROCKIES!), learning foreign languages(currently learning Spanish...at this point I"m pretty good! Next I want to learn French), swimming, picnics, walking, and so much more!

Favorite books: One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Twilight series, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings, The Book of Lost Things, Candy, The Great Gatsby, Fahrenheit 451, and tons more! I am a big big big reader!!!!

Favorite music: I love all different kinds of music except rap and country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a total Spanish immersion program in Mexico last semester. I was thrown into Mexican culture and had to adapt to the language and my surroundings. I learned so much and think that that experience has seriously changed the way I live my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can help teach English and Spanish. I have a knack for literature and writing. I'm freakishly good at Harry Potter Trivia. :-)
