About Me

CURRENT MISSION

it's less a mission and more a need to never, ever get complacent

ABOUT ME

I suppose it doesn't make me much of a writer, but I don't know how to explain myself in a few paragraphs. I'm completely crazy and eccentric, in what I like to think is the best way. My imagination is usually working faster than the rest of me and I like to think of myself as whimsical, but I can also be the one in any group who kind of has an edge.

PHILOSOPHY

"Too much sanity may be madness. And maddest of all, to see life as it is and not as it should be."
-- Miguel de Cervantes

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm quite new to CouchSurfing, but as I've started searching for couches I've found so many people who look interesting. I hope to use this to explore the world while I'm in Europe, and I think it will make me take a second look at my own country as well and see what I might be missing right around the corner.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to have my first CS experience!

Interests

I love literature and am a total dork about it. I used to fancy myself a writer, but now I'm more often involved in editing other people's writing, and I'm happy to spend most of my time reading.

I'm no good at acting but I love theatre and the people who get involved in it, and I'm an amateur photographer and artist. I'm obsessed with my camera and don't often put it down, much to the dismay of my camera-shy friends.

I've also always loved animals and the outdoors, and I've ridden horses since I was young, though I've never been able to afford to own one.

As for travelling, I'm just desperate to get out there and see everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have:

- laid flowers on Shakespeare's grave
- climbed the Eiffel tower
- loved with everything I had
- held and cast a trained hawk
- stood on a cliff in Wales
- watched the sun rise three times
- kissed in Trafalgar Square
- wore my grandmother's dress to prom
- walked all night in the rain with strangers-become-friends, twice
- dipped my hand into a Roman bath
- survived a class at an art school
- seen the Olympic torch
- walked across London at four in the morning
- rode a horse on the beach in Bermuda
- seen glaciers and mountains in Alaska
- watched the sun set from the highest point in Athens
- written on the Berlin wall
- shared a drink with old and new friends under the stars in Germany

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a whole list of things I want to learn to do in my lifetime, from blowing glass to sailing. Just ask if you want to know.

I can teach you plenty about photography and ramble on about color schemes, composition and everything of the sort for ages. I'll do something similar with literature if prompted, and I'm always happy to help with editing essays, for any of you students who have things to turn in soon.
