About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be open, stay open, and find my people.

ABOUT ME

Sometimes I start out shy, but I warm up pretty quick to a friendly smile.
I always have a song stuck in my head, so I'm always singing.
I'm very silly and I love to laugh. I am a total nerd and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I talk with my hands. I call it being expressive and enthusiastic and communicating visually, but other CSers have called me a mime. The jerk haha.
I love food. I LOVE food.
I just graduated with a degree in Drama and Spanish, having gone to school on a social justice scholarship. Bit by bit I'm figuring out how I want my academic focus on sex education and sex workers rights to take shape in my real life.
I love to dance, and I love to sing. Before I moved to Spain I had just discovered ecstatic dance and 5Rhythms, and now that I'm here I'm diving into Biodanza. It's how I work through rough times and find peace of mind!

PHILOSOPHY

Everything is related to everything.

I saw an infographic not too long ago that said "Stop holding on to what hurts and make room for what feels good." I'm trying to take heed, because that's some needed advice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Now that I'm living in Almeria, I jump on every CouchSurfing excursion I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've gotten together with several surfers to hang out and explore Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, and surfed once. I had a total blast all times and just want to keep doing it. There's something really special about people who love CouchSurfing, and I just want to meet and hang out with all of them, all the time. They also tend to be ridiculous. I love the ridiculous.

Interests

Right now I'm learning tarot and am really interested in things like energywork and astrology. I enjoy travelling (duh) and riding horses, seeing all kinds of theatre (especially if it's weird and wild), and trying new food. I'm really interested in discussing culture and the way systems of oppression interact and appear in language and in pop culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

All the Pretty Horses. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Tres Sombreros de Copa. The Phantom Tollbooth. Ishmael, The Story of B, and My Ishmael.

Music: The Beatles, Mika, OK Go, Beirut, Beach Boys, The Postal Service, Fleet Foxes, Queen, Lady Gaga, The Shins, Cabas, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Hellogoodbye, Girl Talk, Daft Punk, Justice, Jet, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Maroon 5, Ratatat, Panic at the Disco, Amy Winehouse, Of Montreal, The Unicorns, Third Eye Blind.....I exclusively listen to things that make me groove. I also have been accused of being stuck in the 90s, and while I don't always mind that, I LOVE finding new stuff to listen to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I finally met my Colombian family for the first time two years ago and spent two months with them in Colombia. Simply the feeling of roots was amazing.

Burning Man.

Teach, Learn, Share

Tell me where, what day, and what time you were born, and I'll tell you a bit about yourself. I geek out over astrology and love listening to the dreams people have at night. If we're lucky, I might be able to teach you a constellation or two. I taught a friend how to make a paper airplane and a paper crane, so I could teach you that. And how to sew a button, some cool camp songs, and even how to french braid if you so desire.

To learn...so much. How to live, to let go, and most important be open to the people and the world around me. More Spanish. More Italian! How to cook. How to sail. How to spit. How to play 3 good songs on guitar. How to meditate. How to do the monkey bars. How to live with less. The list is endless.

I can share a fantastic reiki massage and some good times. I can also make a delicious American breakfast of french toast, bacon (or bacon substitute), eggs, hashbrowns, and other delights. I am more than happy to discuss 5Rhythms, ecstatic dance, and biodanza! As of recently, I can share a tarot reading too.
