ABOUT ME

I'm an early riser, which, I know, is a ghastly habbit that leads to sickness and death. Don't believe me? Look at Descartes. Most of his life he spent in bed philosophizing, writing, and reading, but eventually he had to face the stark reality of earning a living. So he got a job, became a tutor, and by necessity was forced to rise early. Well, this messed up his health and he died :)

But let's not talk about death. I was born an raised in Moldova, a country sandwiched between Ukraine and Romania. I talk only about topics that interest me, and politics is hardly one of them. If you have a fondness for Chinese food, this means that we share something in common. I'm currently a PhD student in Cognitive Psychology, which frankly has more math and biology in it than psychology. Other than that, it is really hard for one to give an unbiased opinion about himself without feeling that something is missing--so, uhmm, I do have a hard time making a precis of my life that can fit in a text-box.

I do accept couch-requests, but it all depends in what week you decide to visit.

PHILOSOPHY

Daniel Everett, a linguist and misionairy who spent over 30 years studying Piraha language and culture, asked them: "Who do you think created trees? Or the sun? Or the sky?"Piraha, having no folklore or creation myths, were baffeled by such questions. "What do you mean? They exist and that's enough."
