CURRENT MISSION

I am currently on a journey around Europe. I recently got marrried to Olivia, and now we are on our travels, backpacking around Europe for the next year. We want to see as much as possible, but meet as many people as possible along the way!

ABOUT ME

I am a born and bred kiwi, who loves to meet new people, explore new areas and cultures, and love to find out more about the world as a whole! I recently got married to Olivia, which has started a whole new chapter of my life. I work as a Civil Engineer at home, so at times get over excited about seeing new infrastructure! I enjoy music, and sport, especially getting out into the great outdoors! SO I am really excited about experiencing all these things in the coming few months!

PHILOSOPHY

Not so much philosophy, but I am relaxed and prefer to go with the flow, and don't tend to worry or get stressed about things

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Over the next few months I will be looking to surf peoples couhes all around Europe with my wife, as we are travelling now and looking to really explore the cultures and experiences each country has to offer. In future we will deffinately host surfers, most likely in New Zealand (we have to get a place first as we currenlty don't have one!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing,org, although I am no stranger to the concept of it! Olivia and I "couch surfed" around the USA 2 years ago, and I have also done plenty of this around New Zealand and Australia on a number of occasions. I have to say have been mostly great experiences and opportunities to really experience a different culture from my own, from a much better perspective than a usual tourist.

Interests

I am interested in music, play the guitar. Interested in sports such as mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and anything outdoors! Also into rugby (our nations main sport!) I am just keen to get stuck into whatever I have the opportunity to do!

Music, Movies, and Books

I will probably enjoy watching most movies (that aren't chickflicks) and any book that has a good story, mostly thriller or mystery books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand is an alpine crossing in the North Island that offers amazing views and landscape, for example looking down into the various craters. This was a great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am open to learning anything! There is so much that I need to learn I can't even state something here. But as I work as an engineer, there is alot I can share about road construction or water treatment or something similar. We also know alot about New Zealand culture and history, so are willing to share anything we know.
