About Me

Hi I'm Stef!

With a Chilean mother, Italian father, a childhood in Venezuela, and growing up in the United States I've always had a passion for traveling and the amazing experiences and interactions that come with it! Currently taking some time to explore as much of the world as I can and loving every minute of it.

I'm a huge fan of working with languages and have also studied to work in global development, although videography and media management are hobbies that I'd love to turn into something more someday. I spend most of my free time either eating or thinking about food and ideally one day I'll learn enough to have a decent basic knowledge of how to cook dishes from all kinds of different places! I'm big into hiking and love living around mountains in quiet smaller cities/towns, although I'm heading back to living in the middle of New York City soon.. (wish me luck) hopefully I'll have a place where I can host other couchsurfers one of these days!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had only good experiences being surrounded by friends who are Couchsurfing hosts or guests in various places I've visited. Such a good way to connect with a place through the people that know it best, I'm really excited to become a part of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

As cliche as it is to say I like a little bit of everything music-wise, it's really hard to nail down my tastes to a few categories! Catch me listening to anything from classical to folk to old school rap to EDM to pretty much any musical you can think of.. there's not much out there I don't enjoy.

La vita è bella, Forrest Gump, and The Dark Knight are a few of my favorites although Slumdog Millionaire is probably my most watched film of all time. Book-wise I've been recently very into novels by Khaled Hosseini and I always enjoy a good mystery or crime story (to be honest I've probably spent way too much time reading Harry Potter over and over again to properly make my mind up about some of my other favorite books).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer I gave 4 hour tours of a famous art collection in Italy to rich people while knowing absolutely nothing about modern art..

Teach, Learn, Share

I adore languages, practicing my confusing language mixture of Italian and Spanish is my favorite way to embarrass myself so if you're into that kind of thing I'm your gal!

I am fascinated by other people's travel stories and have plenty to share myself, learning about different cultures and their customs and meeting people from new interesting places is something I'll never get enough of.
