About Me

Me and my husband Sebastian (31) are travelling the world at the moment and we want to meet lovely people, hear your storys, share ours, see incredible places, learn about different cultures and, of course, enjoy good local food.

But stop... at first something about our background! Sebastian travelled to Australia after he finished university in 2011. He spend 6 months on a working holiday visa in Down Under, I unforunately couldn´t afford to join him. So I was pretty happy when he was back in Germany after half a year. That was the point when he told me, that we should think about doing a trip around the world together one day.
We´ve been working for 4 years then, got married in 2013 and tried to save as much money as we could. In 2014 we decided to start our trip in October 2015. We terminated our jobs, our flat, rented a small shed to store all our belongings, packed our backpacks and went out to see the world. Actually the plan was to be back in Germany one year later. But plans are subject to change, so in New Zealand we decided, to spend one more year in Australia because we were both still keen on travelling. And now, 1,5 years after we started our trip, we still are.

We are both easygoing characters and we are keen to chat with other openminded people accompanied by a drink or two. I´m just not good with dogs and try to avoid them. But I don´t have a problem with any other kind of pets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We already got to know a lot of cool and interesting people trough Airbnb in Thailand, Japan, Australia and New Zealand and we want to try another way now to get to know the locals.

Cooking dinner together with our local friend Ansaya on a small roof top terrace in Chiang Mai/Thailand, Going out to a local Sushi restaurant with Hiroshi in Kagoshima/Japan or living in a camper trailer for 4 months on the property of Odette in Christchurch/New Zealand are just some of the great experiences that we´ve had with locals so far and we would like to experience something like that together with you as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We are travelling around the world since 1,5 Years and we still have a few months to go. There were so many things happening, so many people we´ve met that it´s really hard to find THAT amazing story. I´d just say that this trip as a whole is the most amazing thing for us that we´ve ever done.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories - I´d be awesome to share funny and crazy but also yucky and weired experiences with you. We all know that travelling is not always and only just amazing.

Cooking experiences - We both love food and we are always keen on new receipes that we can take home. In exchange for that we are more than happy to share our experience with you. We´ve learned a lot at a cooking school in Bali and when we were cooking with our host in Thailand.

We are both interested in nature (I´m a little bird nerd), politics, science and a lot of other topics, so I´m pretty sure we will find a connection.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
