ABOUT ME

I am a twenty-one year old student from Klagenfurt, Carinthia/Austria, studying Educational Science and Applied Cultural Science. As you maybe already guess, I am totally interested in culture, languages, education and people. Subsequently travelling is on of my biggest passions :) I would describe myself as an open-minded, outgoing, friendly and humorous personality, loving to make new experiences and meet different kinds of people. At the moment I am staying in Australia as an exchange student and enjoy my time abroad.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am in Armidale, Australia, doing an exchange semester for my main subject 'Educational Science'. When I finish my classes I want to discover more of this wonderful country, travel around, make new experiences and meet new interesting people with whom I can share my experiences and thoughts. As a matter of fact I will not be able to host in this time, but as soon as I am back home I also want to support others in their travelling by giving them a nice place to stay and the amazing chance to learn about my country and my culture aside from the 'touristic' point of view.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have got involved with 'couchsurfing' in March/April 2013, when a friend of mine created us an account for our trip through France, Spain and Portugal. During this trip I had the chance to meet many wonderful people willing to share their homes, cultures and stories with us. Unfortunately, since this trip I have not had the chance to travel or host. Now, as i finally have the opportunity to travel again for a longer time, I wish to collect more couchsurfing experience and hope to meet and make many new international friends.

Interests

I am very interested in different people and their cultures - including their foods, traditions, arts, music, languages, habits, points of views and everything that belongs to it. I enjoy enriching discussions and am interested to learn through my interaction with others. I also love nature and animals wholeheartedly which is why i prefer to spend a lot of time outside. Sometimes I am maybe a little bit careful towards unknown things but i like to challenge myself and enjoy to try new things out.
Some of the things I really appreciate and love are beautiful landscapes and good food. Consequently I enjoy cooking and eating a lot - preferable in a nice group of people. Besides I love sleeping, drawing, taking pictures as well as dancing and singing (although I think I am not really good in the last two mentioned points..).

Music, Movies, and Books

Actually I find it hard to restrict my preferences in these areas because I enjoy a broad range of different types of them. For instance regarding music, I like alternative indie music and reggae but also rock and punk and some pop songs. What I really love is live music accompanied by acoustic guitar and eventually other instruments like drums.
I have to admit, that I am not watching too many movies but again it is a broad range from sad and exciting thrillers (like Memento) to beloved Disney movies etc.
Concerning books, I enjoy German classics (e.g. Faust, Biedermann und die Brandstifter), entertaining thrillers (e.g. Nighttime Is My Time) and well written nonfiction books.
