ABOUT ME

I'm quiet, normally quite shy, and love animals. I want to learn as many languages as possible, and I love film. I have no formal education in the latter, but am trying to educate myself, as well as with photography. One of my favorite activities is eating.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure that I have a well-formed personal philosophy, but there are some principles I try to uphold that are often in line with some of the more basic tenets of Buddhism. In general I have a strong sense of respect for all forms of life and try my best to have a positive effect on as many lives as possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am completely new to this project. I would like to try surfing on my future travels, and offer a couch when I have a more stable living situation.

It is hard to choose one, but one of my favorite memories is climbing a dormant volcano in Guatemala. It was amazing because there people and animals live in the crater around the banks of a small lake. I rested for a while on the rocks by the lake and unpacked my lunch. I had left a can of opened Coke on a flat stone, and a massive bull knocked it over and drank the soda that pooled up on the stone. It was all very surreal and I was a bit scared of the bull at the time.

I'm learning to make screen prints, so perhaps in the future I could teach someone to do that. Otherwise I can show people around to some of my favorite places in the city (they mostly involve eating...). I speak a little Italian and some Spanish, but I'd probably be better at helping someone learn English. Aside from that my basic area of expertise is the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and Colombian political history of the 20th century. Now I'm also quite good with Adobe Lightroom and love editing photos.

I'm open to learning anything someone is willing to teach me--I'm fascinated by absolutely everything I don't know, which is a lot.
