About Me

CURRENT MISSION

don't let your life going by without living it!

ABOUT ME

We met travelling in New Zealand in the summer of 2008. Since then we decided to keep it going us a couple and went to Australia on a working holiday visa. We spent 6 amazing months down under, travelling on 1984 Toyota van called "il poderoso" and working in Brisbane. After that we took off and flew to Singapore where we started our journey overland back to Europe. It was a truly unforgettable experience who left us craving for more adventure but of course it had been a while since we were home with our families so we decided to stop in Italy and try to save up some money for our next destination: Central America!!!
If Asia was a joy for our soul, Central america was the all about fun and adventure. We bought a Volkswagen van, called "Eldorado", in Puerto Vallarta and we drove it to San jose, Costa Rica. We spent 9 months travelling around central america, hiking, surfing, driving, fixing the van (many many many times...) and yes it was tough because of the uncountable times it broke down but it gave us the opportunity to meet and live with the locals in such a way that we now we wish it had broken down more.
From Panama we flew to Canada where we spent the last 8 months working and living in the Okanagan Valley and Fernie BC.
That's what we have been up in the last 4 years of our life. Describing ourself we would say we love meeting new people, we like to hear your stories and learning things we don't know, we like the feeling of exchanging stories and experiences; we are very active people who like sports in general and we are always up for new challenge like the one we took when we decided to cross the country on a bicycle!!!

PHILOSOPHY

be happy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We joined the couchsurfing community recently (Summer 2010), we haven't been back home since so we haven't had the pleasure to host anybody, and that will be the first thing we will do once we get home! can't wait!
how we partecipate? We realized a few weeks ago that we are talking to more and more people about couchsurfing and how amazing this community is and how they should go on internet and sing up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All we can say is that we had some amazing host who made us feel terribly comfortable at their home and that struck us to the heart. We have a all bunch of stories but what we will NEVER ever forget was our first taste of couchsurfing when we got to Vancouver at 1 o'clock am and Nicholas, our host, who didn't know us at all, left the door of his house opened and light on in "our" room. We were coming from Panama on low coast fly and we hadn't slept in a bed for 36 hours... Immagine our smile!

Interests

travelling, meeting new people and exchange stories, volunteering, learn about other cultures, taking pictures is our big big hobby and we loved it! reading and watching movies is also a great thing when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do.. that happen many times on bicycle!!

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love reading and like to see a good movie but we will never refuse a good night out dancing (steffi) or a good beer in a pub (gian)...
Our favorite books are: the little prince, shantaram, the city of joy and now the phantom of the tollboth!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

there are many speechless beautiful places we've seen! the craziest thing we've done is bungyjumping NZ from 134 meters! the most beautiful thing was scubadiving in Thailand.
But there so many things we have seen and done that is just impossible for us to write them down, it would take us all night... let us cook you a dinner and we will tell you some of them!

Teach, Learn, Share

mmmm...about teaching, together we speak a few languages so we could teach you these or we've already travelled a lot, if you want some tips, we're more than happy to help you.
we're always happy to learn something new. Travelling for us has been our university... and mostly because of the people we have met on the road.
