ABOUT ME

we are two cool and real people.

THERE ARE TWO OF US ON THIS ONE PROFILE: that means we are party-pack. double the cool for space of one. can share one couch!

Kathleen.... is my name. I am 21.

Steff is the name of Steff. She is 22.

Together we are 43 and really good at math. Sometimes. Not.

We are looking for folks to host us while we go backpacking through Europe this August. Fuck tourist stuff, we want the local experience of wherever it is we end up!

PHILOSOPHY

Steff is a big believer in community. She's not religious or god-fearing. Everything has a potential for good other than fish (her one phobia).

I have a personal philosophy but it's really complicated and long so I'll skip it.

By sleeping on YOUR couch.

We both are capable and willing to do dishes, tidy up after ourselves. Steff is sometimes a vegan and can cook vegan or vegetarian food if that's something that you're into.

I on the other hand, am not vegan.

Someday if we are in town and you are too, you could sleep on one of our couches.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had a couple people stay on our couch in Ottawa. It was enriching. like bread.

Interests

Steff likes cats. A lot. She has two. They are named Larry and Leeloo (yes, like the Fifth Element) and they are her prides and joys. She is into social justice, activism and local struggles. She is passionate and political. A total feminist and coffee drinker. She's interesting to talk to and currently has a mohawk - which obviously makes her cooler than me.

I (Kathleen) also appreciate cats but more with an aloof respect. I write stuff sometimes... occasional poetry, the odd three chord song. I sing and have a karaoke addiction (the hardest part is admitting it). Backflips: I do them.

MUSIC
Kathleen: Neil Young is a god among humans. Kathleen Edwards is my current love and no, not because we share a name, that would be weird. Hannah Georgas, Sarah Harmer. Canadian things, folk things, pop things. Elton John!

Steff: Lots of punk, folk, alternative goodness. Against me!, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, Neutral Milk Hotel, Super Furry Animals, Strike Anywhere.

MOVIES
Kathleen: Mulan. She dressed as a man and sometimes I do that.

Steff: Documentaries are rad. Also anything by the Cohen brothers.

BOOKS
Kathleen: Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence. Harry Potter! Anil's Ghost by Michael Ondaatje.

Steff: Harry Potter!!! Also, anything by bell hooks, Lemony Snicket or Naomi Klein.

I can teach basic cartwheels, how to compose a nice, eye-catching photo and Steff has a lot of resources when it comes to grassroots activist organizing.
