About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm embarking on a week long New England road trip this fall!

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Stef. And like many people, I love to travel. But I don't just like "to travel." I love the entire experience that comes with it. Getting lost in a new and unfamiliar place, having strangers turn into friends, learning about new cultures (even if I'm just a few hours from home). I long to make friends with the unfamiliar and unknown.

I'll try just about anything once--including any and all adventures, food and experiences. I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle and don't smoke or do drugs, but I'll throw back a couple drinks.

I have a pretty cool gig at a nonprofit that provides assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners in Northeast Ohio.

I'm terrible at keeping houseplants alive, if you have any tips, please share!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking to meet some interesting folks on my New England road trip!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm brand new to this!

Interests

I love to stay fit, so you'll find me at my local crossfit gym throwing around some barbells and doing those weird crossfit pullups. Outdoor adventure is my jam, too. I wish I could backpack a lot more than I actually do because I love to disconnect. Mountain biking is fun, but I'm terrible at it.

I'm a huge nature nerd, so I became an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist last year, which has afforded me the opportunity to meet some really cool people and share awesome experiences during my time volunteering. Through this program, I discovered Youth Outdoors, a program through the Cleveland Metroparks which encourages inner city youth to experience the outdoors.

I don't know if I will ever love anyone or anything as much as I love cheese.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Lumineers, Caamp, The Revivalists, Blink 182, Josh Ritter

Movies & TV: Confession...I don't have Netflix, or Hulu, or any of that, so I'm not caught up on all the latest shows, but I do love me some Dexter!

Books: I love to learn, so I'm a huge fan of non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As my first solo travel experience, I backpacked the Grand Canyon for four days and three nights with a small guided group. The people were awesome, the scenery picturesque--the Canyon really does change your life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to hear about all of the cool/impactful things you've done and maybe we can bounce some ideas off of each other, too! I'm new here, so I'm open to any and all advice on how to make the most of this experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a gracious and respectful guest and will treat your home as if it were my own. I want to share my stories and experiences with you, and hopefully, we can learn from one another! Maybe we can share recipes? I can teach you how to do some crossfit pullups? Or maybe I can tell you about the time my college softball coach tried to sue me?

I will not expect you to feed me or to clean up after me! However, if you should happen to invite me to join you for home cooked meals, I will ask if you'll let me help you cook, if I may wash the dishes, AND if I may help pay for the cost of the food.
