Hi! My name is Stein Bjorvatn. I'm a 22-year-old international student from Norway, studying on the Gold Coast. I'm currently on a spiritual journey, searching to learn more about myself at a deeper level through traveling around the world and meeting new people. I'm also a highly active skateboarder, where my skateboard is my main form of transportation. I also aspire to make this world a better place, while always being the best version of myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was younger, when I was working at a skateboard shop, my manager one day decided to leave. I asked him why, and he replied: "I've booked a one-way ticket to Australia and I have no money". I couldn't believe him at first until he said that he's going to hitchhike and couch surf the whole way. At the time, I thought he was crazy. Today, it inspires me. It is such a foreign thing for most people, and way outside their comfort zone. This is what I want to challenge myself. This is a way of experiencing life to the fullest. The personal development I believe Couchsurfing can provide me is far more valuable than any hostel or Airbnb.
