Overview
About Me
I've been living in Melbourne, Australia for 12 years now and I love spending time off my 9 - 5 desk job to travel and visit new places. I grew up in Malaysia and consider Melbourne my second home. I love the excitement of discovering a new city, the food, the people and the culture. When I travel I like to see as much as I can of a new place, but I also enjoy having some chill out time at a cafe with a drink and just people watch. I am a very organized person and generally like to keep things clean and tidy.
I'm new to couchsurfing so I don't have any reviews as yet, but I have done Airbnb before both as a guest and a host. You can see my reviews via the link below.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've started travelling more in recent years and have recently taken a couple of months off work to travel. I have met many people, and travelers alike in my previous trips and thought couchsurfing would be a great way to meet more people. I like the idea of seeing a place from a local's perspective and from what I've read so far, this looks like a good way to do it.
Interests
I love going for concerts, to the movies and art/theatre events. I have an interest in photography and wish I had more time to read - always love a good paperback. I don't mind cooking, but enjoy baking more as I find it therapeutic. Currently enjoying tennis for sport. I own a little red Vespa but also love rides on fast bikes. I speak English, Cantonese, Malay, some Mandarin, and am currently learning how to speak Italian (and enough Spanish to get by in South America).

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not going to lie - I love pop music and Hollywood blockbusters (just the good ones, and not necessarily Oscar winning films). Independence Day is an all time favourite for many reasons, and I think Star Wars is cool - I actually read one of the books. Also because I relate to Chewbacca.
I listen to most types of music, except techno and heavy metal. Really like Coldplay, Calvin Harris, the love theme from Superman and songs I can dance to when no one's watching.
My favourite genre for books are fantasy (David Eddings, Raymond E. Feist), romance and mystery. Also like reading books on travel and fashion.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydived over the Great Barrier Reef and fell through a rain cloud.
Teach, Learn, Share
People from Malaysia are known as Malaysians (a nationality), not Malay (a race). There are 3 main races in Malaysia, which are the Chinese, Indians, and Malays. i.e. Malaysian Chinese vs Mainland Chinese (from China).
