ABOUT ME

I'm a girl in my mid-20s, I've lived most of my life in Melbourne, Australia, a city I love, but I also love to travel and experience other people and places. I finished studying last year, not too sure what I'm doing with myself, and am taking the chance to do some travel and live somewhere new for a while. I'm vegetarian, and I love food (another part of other cultures to be discovered), and really enjoy cooking and baking and generally just pottering about in the kitchen. I'm a bit of a history nerd, and that's something I'm always looking to find out about when I go to a new place. I love being outdoors, camping, walking, swimming, whatever really. Also play quite a lot of sport, I'll give pretty much anything a go (happy to watch it too, though I'm not a mad keen supporter).

PHILOSOPHY

Is it possible to answer this without sounding like a cliché?! I guess I'm a bit of a take things as they come person. I'm not in any hurry to get places, like to take my time, and think if I keep making little choices along the way, and do things I enjoy, hopefully I'll end up somewhere worth being!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just getting involved, but I'd like to try out some couches, and just meet people, get involved in activities that might be happening. Once I'm settled somewhere with my own place, I'd give hosting a go too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly surfing, mostly in France. Hosted once or twice, but unofficially, not through the cs site.

I already had a bit of a crack at this in the 'about me' section, so to start with history, food and cooking (I'm the type of person who will make things from scratch, like nutella for example, just for fun), sport and being outdoors. I love mountains, beaches and forests. Books and reading. Seeing live performances - music, theatre, comedy, whatever's going really. Plus I can't say no to also the odd trashy movie or TV show (especially it's from the '90s!) I also love talking to other people and learning about their lives, interests and passions - there's always something to learn!

This question always stumps me! At the moment...
Books: recently read Hilary Mantel - Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, both were great. Finally read Animal Farm, well worth it! I can fly through anything by Jane Austen. The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion is another recent one that I loved. Everything I've read so far by Khaled Hosseini.
Music: musicians and bands that I come back to a lot are Lior, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Cold War Kids, Little Birdy, Paul Kelly, Tim Minchin (for comedy)... I can't think who else at the moment.
