Hey, and now in English, (a bit easier) I am Stephanie, a Dutchie from Amsterdam who is studying (history) in Buenos Aires until august 2012. I love travelling, meeting people and other social activities like drinking, dancing (I am learning Tango right now!) and new (little) adventures.
I play hockey, love sailing, snowboarding, surfing, yoga and my biggest hobby is eating. Or maybe preparing the food first, and if possible eating it at a long table with a lot off people, in the afternoon sun.
Oh! And i have a tendency to make great shakes, so if you have a blender? I will make a shake for you in return, or great salads.

Interests

Interests.. My biggest interest is other people. Where are they from, what do they do, why do they do that. And making fun, which comes in many ways.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time i walked through the douane, i was 18 and it was my first time travelling. I was going to New Zealand, Fiji & Australia for a total of 6 months - alone!

I actually did not know what to expect, or what I was going to do. But a lot of people around me were going to travel, and the people who already 'traveled' could only tell me how amazing it was.

So there I went, the first tears falling while saying goodbye to my friends, and really started crying when I said bye to my mom, dad & brother.

So, I guess everybody knows this moment, the weird feeling when you walk away - knowing there's something big ahead off you. But at the mean time: you leave your whole life behind the moment you walk past the guy who checks your passport.

While you're lining up, you know you actually shouldn't look back, but you can't help it just to take a little peek - and there is your whole world waving at you. Standing at the side line, giving you all the courage to need to take the next step. And you know that it will be a next step in your life as well. And that you will be in some ways a different person when you see these people again.

So, when you show your passport, walk through, and don't have the possibility to look at the world you just left behind anymore, you know that this is where it starts.

My reaction was laughing, really loudly, adrenaline rushing and i wanted to start running! But at the mean time i was awestruck, and disappointed at the same time.

They say you change at the moment you walk past the douane.

But I was still the same. Nothing changed - what is this?

I guess that question, and a lot that followed everytime I was on my one, especially in other countries changed me. And as far as i know only in a good way.

And i guess, that was the first question, and first moment of travelling that left me awestruck.

And for the rest, i guess the rest of my stories weren't ment to be written down. You need to hear them, as there are plenty of amazing things I have seen and done. And I guess the same for you as well!
