About Me
Holaaa! I’m Pamela, a traveler from Peru, but I’m based in Wellington, New Zealand for most of the year.
I’m always on the lookout for new adventures, and Couchsurfing has given me the perfect opportunity to meet amazing people from all over the world while immersing myself in new cultures.
I love spending time with my friends, meeting new people, reading books, and writing about my travel experiences on my blog. I’m also passionate about hiking, photography, exploring local history, and, of course, trying new foods. 😋
I believe in making the most out of every trip—whether it’s discovering hidden gems in a city or having deep conversations over a cup of cacao (yes, cacao is a big part of my roots!).
I’m friendly, funny, and always happy to share knowledge and help others. Life is about connection and learning from each other, and I’m all about that!
I’m trying to balance life between New Zealand and Peru, so if I’m in Peru, I’d be thrilled to show you around. If I’m not there, I can give you some great recommendations or connect you with a friend who can. Just let me know when you’re planning to arrive!
And if you’re traveling around New Zealand, I’d be happy to show you around Wellington or even host you if I don’t have friends visiting. 😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here because I consider Couchsurfing a fantastic way to connect with locals, exchange experiences, and dive into the culture of wherever I am. It’s a great tool for travelers, like me, who want to go beyond just visiting places and truly connect with people. I also love the idea of helping others explore my beautiful country when they’re visiting!
Interests
I’m passionate about traveling, meeting new people, and immersing myself in different cultures. Music and dancing are a big part of my life, and I love staying active by going to the gym. I also enjoy reading books and exploring all kinds of art—whether it’s visual, performing, or cultural.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2014, I made the bold decision to quit my job and travel around Brazil for three months. It was an unforgettable experience—meeting incredible local people, learning about their culture and language, and discovering hidden gems not found in Lonely Planet. This trip taught me that I can travel solo for long periods and always find a way to turn the journey into a meaningful life experience.
Fast forward to 2017: I made the same decision again to quit my job, this time taking a gap year. I started my adventure in Europe and then spent a year in New Zealand on a working holiday visa. It was another chapter of self-discovery, adventure, and connecting with people from all walks of life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching Spanish to those who want to learn and sharing the beauty of Peruvian culture. It’s always rewarding to help others connect with my heritage.
Right now, I’m learning Italian and Hebrew (modern).
I believe it’s important to know at least a few words in the original language of the country you’re visiting. Even if most people speak English, learning the local language creates a deeper connection with the culture and people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love sharing insights about my culture and language, as well as fascinating stories from my travels. If we get the chance to cook together, I’d be excited to do an international exchange of food and introduce you to some delicious Peruvian dishes!
I’m also happy to help out with cooking, cleaning, or any maintenance work, wherever possible. I’m open to socializing and having interesting conversations, as I believe we all have so much to learn from each other.
I always enjoy sharing the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained while traveling, and I look forward to learning from you as well. Always open to exchanging tips and ideas!
