ABOUT ME
I'm a professor of anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I am a primatologist, studying the behavior and ecology of monkeys and apes. I also work closely with local communities on conservation issues. I've traveled to Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia to conduct research, but right now I work mostly in Indonesian Borneo and Nicaragua, and spend part of each year abroad. I love to travel, see new places, meet people that live there, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am open to showing others around the place where I live (Wisconsin) and also meeting and staying with people when I travel. I think that seeing a place through the people that know it intimately is by far the best way to develop an understanding and appreciation of local culture. People are just as important to a travel experience as a place.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to this, but I've had many friends that have had very positive experiences, and I've met some great hosts.
