Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like every one else in CS I am interested in meeting people and traveling. I had ( and still have) preconceived ideas about people and countries. But quite often a travel to these countries or meeting it's citizens have changed my perception. In the process I have also learned a lot about myself and my country,it's pluses and minuses. In my travels a tip here or a suggestion there by locals have mostly been useful ( I must say, a few misguided me and must have had laugh at my expense!)

I am new to couch surfing and at this point ....interested in enjoying a good conversation over coffee or beer and showing you around when not busy. I have hosted just one couple and may host more after I get a feel of the CS community.

Interests

I love to read. In fact I read two news papers daily. Hardcopy. ( News using Kindle or tablet or iPad .....not the the same joy) I literally read cover to cover by end of day. So be it Politics,Economics, History, Geography, International relations, Technology, Sports or humor, I try to be updated. I am semi- retired, I have the time.

Besides news and movies, I love to watch Discovery and NG channels on TV.

Generally love almost all games and sport. I still haven't figured out the rules and nuances of a few of them (like rugby) but still watch them. I am biased in my love for crickets . After all it's our National game and I have played at a decent level. Football(soccer) comes a distant second.
