About Me
I usually respond faster on instagram: @itmustbesteve
Hi there! My name is Steve, and I'm an adventurous traveler with a love for the outdoors. I own a small landscaping and tree services business, which keeps me busy, but I always make time to explore new places, meet amazing people, and experience life to the fullest.
Born and raised in Georgia, USA, I now call Ontario, Canada home. I'm passionate about camping, hiking, and building unique connections with people from different cultures. My travels aren't just about sightseeing—I’m always on the lookout for meaningful conversations, local hidden gems, and opportunities to broaden my perspective. I have a deep appreciation for architecture, breathtaking natural scenery, and the distinctive qualities that make each culture truly unique.
I believe in living simply but intentionally, so whether I’m road-tripping or planning my next big adventure, I’m always striving to make the most of every moment. Couchsurfing is a perfect way for me to connect with like-minded people and create memorable experiences.
If you’re hosting me, you can expect someone who is respectful, clean, and eager to share stories (or lend a hand if needed!). I’d love to hear about your favorite local spots or what makes your corner of the world special. I look forward to meeting you and sharing a little piece of life’s journey together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing to connect with people in a more meaningful way than traditional travel allows. For me, it’s about experiencing the world through the eyes of locals, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. Whether it’s exchanging cultural insights, exploring hidden gems, or simply enjoying good conversation, Couchsurfing offers a unique way to build connections that make every trip unforgettable. I also hope to give back by sharing my own experiences and perspectives with others.
Interests
My love for the outdoors drives much of what I do—whether it’s hiking forest trails, climbing to breathtaking summits, or camping to share stories and laughter around a fire. History also fascinates me, especially the Roman Empire and 15th to 18th century Europe, where so much of humanity’s story unfolded. I’m an avid reader working my way through 'The 100 Books Everyone Should Read Before They Die,' drawn particularly to political fiction like Orwell’s works that challenge the way we see the world. No matter where I travel, I always make time to explore a local coffee shop—it’s a small but meaningful way to connect with a city’s culture. And when I need to recharge, there’s nothing better than leaving the city behind to stargaze under a clear, quiet night sky.
