I grew up in California and just moved to Vancouver, BC to be with my Canadian wife. I'm a shy extrovert and enjoy the kinds of activities that foster little social communities, such as climbing, cycling, and acroyoga. Right now I'm switching careers to photography after a decently long stint in the software world. I find it's very easy for me to get along with all sorts of people, and as a houseguest my inclination is to Leave No Trace or to leave things better than I found them as much as possible.

I enjoy travel and all the good stuff that usually comes along with that such as trying the foods, seeing the sights, etc. But most importantly what I really like is to meet local people and get to know them, to get a feel for what their life is like wherever they may be.

Currently traveling in Japan and aside from being allergic to paying $$$ for housing, I want to meet local people and experience a bit of their everyday life, swap stories, go on adventures, etc. I'm also trying to improve my Japanese language skills, so I'm trying to get as much practice as I can!

I'm into all sorts of music, but lately I've been listening to the Hamilton soundtrack on repeat. Oh, and a bunch of FKJ (French Kiwi Juice). As far as books go - I really like sci-fi and am currently reading Seveneves by Neal Stephenson, one of my favorite authors.

I got my scuba diving certification alongside a bunch of sea turtles, nurse sharks, and spotted eagle rays off the coast of Belize, and that was pretty sweet.

I usually have fun teaching some basic acroyoga. Jam sessions on drums. Otherwise I love practicing speaking other languages with people and helping people with English!
