About Me

I'm a documentary portrait photographer currently living in Tampa, FL.

I also write music, and am always down to jam =)

Favorite place visited thus far:
India. Oh man. The food, the friends....my time there was really quite special.
Alaska would have to come a close second, just for the sheer awe-inspiring quality of hiking through the tail end of the Rockies.

Huge movie fan. I'll wax poetic for entirely too long on "Interstellar" and have seen all of Wes Anderson's films far too many and yet somehow not enough times.

Personally, I'm very clean. Old fashioned manners. I say sorry too much. Hopelessly optimistic. Overly energetic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I probably could just stay in a cheap hotel. But I'd much rather meet some lovely folks and have some better stories as a result. And I need to feed my addiction to making portraits!

Interests

MUSIC.
^Fairly self explanatory.

And of course, photography. Specifically film photography. There's just something about the whole developing process. Magical and meditative.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bands:
Off the top of my head; Caravan Palace, The Lone Bellow, Ray Lamontagne, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Johnny Cash, Joshua James, Lights, Joe Purdy....too many to list!

Movies:
In no particular order: Interstellar, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Grand Budapest Hotel, LOTR Trilogy, Primer, Mad Max, The Descendants, Hotel Rawanda, Anything by Terrence Malick or Wes Anderson....or Christopher Nolan, really.

Books
The Lord of the Rings series. Without question the series that has moved me most. A few other random titles: Freakonomics, Fear and Trembling, The Sleeper Awakes, the Song of Ice and Fire series. Oh, and A River Runs Through It. Can't leave that out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Hermit Trail in the Grand Canyon.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I'm very adaptable and laid back. I've stayed in humble huts and nice hotels, and am equally comfortable in either. I get along with most folks.
Love meeting new people and new cultures. Been crazy blessed to have seen a lot of remarkably beautiful things in my brief span of years.

Also a decent cook. I make a mean stir fry!

If I stay with you, I'd love to make your portrait. Or maybe just get you a nice print, if that isn't your cup of tea.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, England, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua

Countries I’ve Lived In
