ABOUT ME

I'm a long-time Melburnian with one eye permanently on my next trip overseas.I like to think you can't go past a big smile in this world. I'm friendly and approachable, I like a good laugh and am a little dubious of this whole full-time work caper. To balance it all out, I like to meet new people, especially from places far and different from my own home town.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I'm at home in Melbourne I'm very happy to host. There is afterall, nothing better than getting to know a city the local way.My partner and I have a spare room with fold-out bed in inner-suburban Melbourne. It's only a few train stops from the city and close to local cafes.When life is just a little too hectic I'm also happy to just catch up for a coffee.I'm actually yet to stay on someone else's couch, but I try to go to meet-ups whenever I'm overseas.

Recently hosted a lovely Canadian chap for several days and now keen to meet more travellers passing through Melbourne.

I'm a huge advocate of learning another language. I might just butt into your conversation if I hear you speaking French, Spanish or Czech and try to keep it all up by going to language meet-ups. Sadly, not enough!I think next on the list is German, or Dutch. Sometimes you can find me with a camera around my neck. If I'm travelling, the camera never really leaves me. I'm the person you always have to wait for when you're travelling. Just ONE more shot. You know the one.In truth, I'm a fan of anything creative. I work in the book industry but quite like anything visual. I admire anyone with musical talents and wish I could play the piano. I keep re-designing my home to make a piano fit in but it just doesn't work!It must be said that Melbourne is slowly becoming more bike friendly, and most days you can find me cycling about. I'm also a fan of running and swimming. I even convinced myself to do a half-marathon this year. This is not, I repeat NOT at all my normal behaviour. That said, I'd even go as far to say it was good fun. Bonkers, I know.
