< I'm originally a country boy from southwest Missouri...drove a big ol pickemup truck complete with dogs hanging in the back, hand split & sold cords of seasoned firewood, and couldnt have imagined myself any where else...

Then I met Julie and life changed--slowly at first and then more quickly at each crossroad. The two of us lived together for a spell down in Savannah, Georgia waay back in '10 and then moved to the west coast (San Francisco and Oakland area) in the summer of '11 where we lived quite happily for four years.

While in the bay I eeked out a living working as a door-to-door fundraiser for CalPIRG and Environment California, during that time I contributed to getting single-use plastic bags outlawed in San Francisco. For 2 years I worked as a bicycle courier for the, then startup, Postmates and later as day laborer & then office manager for a tree removal company based in west Oakland.

To get an authentic feel for a new place I've got to see it as a local--not as a tourist. That means getting off the well traveled paths and making my own route. Plus, making new friends is way more fun that being isolated in a private space!

兴趣

Hiking, camping, splitting firewood (i use a wedge and a small sledge hammer ;) , all kinds of music from classic country to (some) dubstep. I prefer to be a pedestrian or ride a bicycle instead of being in a car, whenever possible!
