I'm a mechanical engineer by education (I have a B.S. and an M.S. in it) and have been working as one since graduating. I have recently become bored and so have decided to resign from my position in August 2015 and travel around the United States rock climbing and exploring while living out of my van.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for a flexible and fun way to travel! I'm far more interested in meeting interesting people and learning about local culture than locking myself up in some hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Rock and roll (Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, etc). While rock is my favorite, I like nearly every kind!

Movies: I really like movies as an art form, and particularly love horror flicks! The only movies I don't really like are overly sad ones.

Books: Favorites include Stephen King's IT, 1984, and Atlas Shrugged. I'm a big fan of audiobooks right now and am always looking for suggestions!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a blast exploring Iceland for a few weeks! I'd also categorize quitting my perfectly good engineering job in order to travel as "amazing."

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can tell you about California in case you ever visit the beautiful state! If our schedules permit, perhaps I can even teach you a bit about rock climbing if you've never done that and there's some crag nearby.

Learn: I am an open book and will take in anything you have to offer.

Share: Let's swap local recipes, favorite beers, or really anything at all!
