About Me
I was an avid couchsurfer and host about 10 years ago, then left, now back and glad to see it is still working. Meeting different people is one of the main things I like about traveling. Psychologist/college professor. I like to take hosts out to eat or make something to eat for them at home (I'm good at carbonara). I met one of my best friends when he couchsurfed with me 10 years ago in Hawaii. I travel light now, like when I was in my 20s, with just a carry-on backpack. I love wilderness backpacking trips as well as day hiking. Table Mountain is my favorite mountain at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Slept in an abandoned walk-in freezer in the Sahara (in Algeria) back in 1980. Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat played on Radio Algiers (we had a little shortwsve radio with us). In the morning the desert was covered with a light coat of snow.
