About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience and respect the world in all of its diversity: its people and cultures.

ABOUT ME

I am an Associate of Aesthetic Realism which is the philosophy founded by the American poet and critic, Eli Siegel.

In seminars at the Aesthetic Realism Foundation in Soho, I have spoken on such subjects as: "Mind and Body: Can a Man Use Both to Be Kind?", "The Pleasures and Perils of Conceit", "What Do Fathers and Sons Really Want from Each Other?" and "What Stops a Man from Having True Love?"

I have also discussed artists such as Diego Rivera, Alberto Giacometti, Louise Nevelson, and Roy Lichtenstein.

You can read some of the papers I've presented by going to my blog: www.StevenWeiner.net

PHILOSOPHY

What I've learned from Aesthetic Realism: The difference of the world should not be "tolerated" by me; rather, it is a way of completing myself. The more interested I am in the world and people, the bigger, deeper person I become!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How much we can learn from art about our own lives!

Teach, Learn, Share

Through my study of Aesthetic Realism, I can talk pretty deeply with other people about how they see the world, their families, love, the usefulness of art, and so much more. Meanwhile, I feel I have so much to learn from other people, too.
