About Me

CURRENT MISSION

True love

ABOUT ME

When something strikes me funny, I laugh aloud. My kids find it embarrassing. I think from that, you can figure out anything you need to know about me, but we can fill in any blanks over coffee.

PHILOSOPHY

Control of life is an illusion. Most of the most important things that have happened to me were unplanned. I try never to decide if something is good or bad until I'm well into it - I really can't tell up front.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a refugee and her 2 huge dogs from the north during the recent war and found myself a guest in the life of someone I never would have known otherwise.

When my daughter told me about CS, I just said, wow, I wonder who else I might meet just by providing a pillow?

Since then I've hosted a few and met one other for an evening in Tel Aviv. All positive experiences.

Haven't yet surfed myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, have enjoyed my guests.

If you're coming to the vicinity of the airport, drop in for a few days. Then I'll have more to write here.

Music, Movies, and Books

Austin, Hardy, Steinbeck, Tolstoy, Twain - but really, almost anything.
Most movies, except most romantic comedies are silly and don't like scary movies - when I want to be frightened, I drive my car. I love the movies I take my kids to. Either I'm still a kid, or they're not really kid movies at heart. Also love the Cinemateque and "alternate" movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being present at the birth of my children.
2nd place, the color of Crater Lake.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Electricity, Photography
Share: The hills around Jerusalem
Learn: I'd like to cook better and learn about massage (I'm an amateur, and I'd like to learn more about how the muscles are laid out and the best ways of working with them)
