About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as often as possible, explore new worlds and meet new people. Keen to squeeze as many new experiences of people, places, activities, food, drink and culture as I can in my time on this rock.

ABOUT ME

Very open minded and love to make new friends through shared experience. Love to cook, try new foods and drink new beers. At home I brew my own beer (to varying success...) and enjoy sampling regional specialities on my travels.

I enjoy being in nature, whether on hikes, exploring new places or spotting wildlife. As a keen amateur photographer, my camera is never far from my side.

I recently spent 6 months exploring South America and prior to that I have spent 2 months in Indonesia supporting conservation activities in the rainforest and coral reefs. I am a keen advocate for conservation of our environment and wildlife and like to take up opportunities where possible to support this cause.

At home I am a project manager for the Fire and Rescue Service, but in my spare time I like to drink with friends, explore the countryside, go to the cinema and learn about all things science and tech. Occasionally I take part in background work in film and TV shows, so keep your eyes peeled on the big screen!

I have a good sense of humour (favourite comedians include Jon Richardson, Michael McIntyre and Bill Bailey) and enjoy deep conversations about many incomprehensible things.

PHILOSOPHY

Attitude is the difference between ordeal and adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In short, I am after a great adventure. And no great adventure is complete without meeting great people. I would love the opportunity to meet fellow travellers and better know those who call their amazing corner of the world their home.

And if I can crash on a couch en route? Even better!

Interests

Travel, drinking (and brewing) beer with friends, cinema, photography, background work in film and television, science and technology, gym.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of the great TV dramas, including Lost, 24, Dexter, Spartacus etc, as well as science, nature and travel documentaries. Favourite movies include Man on Fire, Die Hard, Last King of Scotland and all things superhero. Favourite type of music is rock and indie and I love reading comedy and thriller books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leading a small team in a week-long advanced jungle training expedition in South East Sulawesi, Indonesia. 12 hour hikes through dense jungle, climbing waterfalls, absailing cliffs and hunting for food to remain self sufficient.

Teach, Learn, Share

I offer good humour, great conversation and an appreciation of people place and culture. I am keen to learn and experience new things and share stories.

I'm also pretty tidy and I don't snore, so my household footprint should be pretty small!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Indonesia, Peru, Spain
