About Me

ABOUT ME

Horrible but willing karaoke singer. Easy to get along with and not easily flustered, pretty much go with the flow which I guess is good if one is going to do some traveling. Nothing's as it is planned in our heads which is part of the fun right?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently relocated from San Francisco to Bellevue, WA. I like learning about other cultures and other perspectives and sharing a meal or a drink if our schedules permit. If not, that's ok too.

BTW all you travelers who have photos with your feet dangling off a ledge or bungee-jumping or standing on one foot on a mountain-top make me nervous! :) Stop already! :)

Interests

I like to be active. I like to play and watch sports, sometimes hike. I like dogs although don't currently own one, used to raise labs...they're so goofy! I love photography and have photographed some willing CSers (not a requirement to stay with me..ha!). It's amazing how visually fluid our days are and then you take a freeze-frame, a photo of something and you see the things you miss! Very interesting. I eat healthily but will grab a beer if the game is on, type-of-thing. I worked with cosmetic surgeons in Beverly Hills for 20 years in hair restoration. It's great to change lives. Now I work with a hair restoration practice in Bellevue, Wa.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open with music...I try not to get tied down to one genre. I like Blues, Classic Rock, Reggae, even quiet contemplative music that's 100% instrumental.
I like Sam Smith, Adele, Hall and Oates, Steppenwolf, on and on and on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I called "Oprah" show which was about people getting laid off in airline industry after 9/11. I got a laid-off pilot a job with our company. He was about to foreclose on his house and had a wife and 2 kids. He saved his house, did well with our company and now he's back flying again! Not a travel experience but still felt great!

Attended training camp of Muhammad Ali 'back in the day' (70's). Went jogging with him, had peach cobbler with him, joked with him, opened his fan mail while he listened. He called me "Mr. Ugly". :)

Played catch with Ellen Degeneres at her comedy show when she asked for questions from the audience. I asked if I could play catch with her.
She said sure (it was more like 'sure'?) and I threw one tennis ball. What she didn't know is I had 5 more in my bag. So yes I lobbed the other 5 at her while she screamed and ran around up on stage not knowing what to make of all this and the audience laughed. She laughed too. I played basketball with Jamie Foxx (likes to shoot 3s!) and Adam Sandler (he beat me 3 games to 1).

Teach, Learn, Share

I love trying out my Spanish..pero esta muy malo! I like seeing how others see the world. I love photography and sports. I love water. I love dogs (but don't currently own one). I love people-watching! I love coffee! A great day for me I suppose would be photographing people in the water playing sports with their dogs while they were also drinking coffee! (they = people, not dogs)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A couch and a meal or two, maybe a drink. Clean towels.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, England, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, Turkey
