Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My wife and I had been planning a year trip around the world for 4 years. We had to cut it back to 6 months because some of our best friends were getting married and we did not want to miss it. Our trip was to Europe and Asia. We had some places we wanted to see but left it up to where we could find a place to stay and explored there. We had the most amazing time and are convinced we met the best people in every city we visited.

Now we are back, we would really like to continue our adventure and return the favor by hosting couchsurfers. We have gotten to know some people who came To California to be Au pares and just love them, we even had one staying with us after her contract was over. We both love meeting new people, learning about other culters and hearing all kinds of stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have surfed through Europe and stayed with 12 different hosts. We used this site for the first time on our world trip and have meet some of the most amazing and generous people. It has been a great experience so far! Please visit us and we would be happy to do all we can to make your stay memorable.

Interests

My wife and I love to explore and see the world. We are open to try new things that might scare other people. We want to see what God has done in other parts of the world and also meet all kinds of people where they live. My wife also wants to learn to cook special foods for all the places we see. If you know some or can tell us of a cooking school or classes that would be amazing. We also want to go hand gliding in some location.

Music, Movies, and Books

Steve's:
Movies: anything that has to do with time travel, futuristic and some cloning if it is done right.
Music: Country, Christian and talk radio.
Books: Harry Potter,lion witch and wardrobe. (I don't read much because I have a hard time reading and spelling.)

Jennifer's:
Movies: musicals, anything with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, 7 brides for 7 brothers, classic (old) films, The Three Amigos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUTl8DSYUQA), Disney films, romantic comedies and much much more.
Music: anything from the Big Band era, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and even some modern too
Books: Nicholas Sparks books (soft girly romance stuff), historical fiction, fantasy, the Bible, books on leadership and books that challenge her and help her grow as a person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For my wife's and my first year being together we went sky diving. The best thing I have done is become one with my beautiful wife in a cute town of Myrtle Creek,Oregon.

I know it says only one but there are so many.... here are just a few: Both of us have also sky dived, road an elephant in Thailand, swam/floated in the Dead Sea and hike to the top of Masada (at 4am) in Israel, and went zip-lining upside down in Costa Rica.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jennifer and I love to dance ballroom dance. If you want to learn a little, we will be up for teaching.

Jennifer also loves to cook. One of her dreams is to learn how to cook a special dish from every place we visit. If you know how to cook or know of a place we can go to learn, that would be amazing.

We love playing all sorts of board and card games and would love to teach or learn new ones.
