About Me

Queer traveler currently wandering about in the NE USA. I just graduated from the University of Toronto (Int'l Development & Enviro Sci.) and have been traveling through the NE USA. I have used couch surfer on and off for several years and I have always loved the people I meet on this site. I am eager to learn from new people and explore a world that I am not familiar with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed a few times in the US and loved my experiences. The kinds of people that I've met while couch surfing have all been phenomenal, friendly, and well-travelled. It is amazing to see so many people come together to offer not only their couch, but their life experience, and unique story as well.

Interests

I am a big fan of origami, I love sharing and comparing different models or just folding things for someone to find. I play guitar and love an opportunity to jam with fellow musicians.

I also enjoy the opportunity to just have a conversation with anyone, I love to hear bizarre traveling stories with people I meet, and take a minute to appreciate the diversity of experience, culture, and backgrounds we all have.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love good acoustic guitar music, anything from flamenco to celtic guitar.
I am also a big fan of documentaries and non-fiction books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've every single job in coffee - from the field as a harvester all the way to the café as a barista!
I've driven to Peru, the car didn't make it much further but I did!
I've moonlighted as an aluminum dealer and smelter in Ghana!
I've kayaked across the city of Toronto, I bet you didn't know that was possible!
I've hiked 34 of 54 of Colorados 14ers - mountains above 14,000ft in elev. for the uninitiated

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I can teach you just about any origami model under the sun! I have taught pop-up classes when ever I can and I always love sharing this unique and ancient art

Learn - I am not a great musician, but I can play the guitar alright. I would love it if you taught me how to play a new song!

Share - I'll share just about anything I have, its the backpacker way!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you have a spare guitar, let's rock out!
If you have a spare second, let's learn some origami!
If you're hungry, let's make some Chinese dumplings!
