About Me

Hello! My Name is Steven. I live near Vail, Colorado in a small town named Minturn. It is a very beautiful, yet expensive place to live. I am looking to travel during the months (May-Oct) that I do not work here.

I work as a professional snowboard coach who works with up and coming amateur and professional snowboarders who are trying to compete at the World Cup, X-Games, and Olympics. I am lucky enough to snowboard on average 140 days per year and usually get a minimum of 2 million vertical feet each season.

My main employment is from November through April. I have decided to spend the rest of the year travelling, trying to meet new friends and learn about other cultures around the world. It is very expensive to stay here year round so I thought it would be very fun to travel and see the world while I am still in great shape and have lots of energy and interest!

I am originally from Los Angeles, California. I also spend a great deal of time as a kid in Maui, Hawaii where my Dad still lives and at the beaches in Southern California.

I am new to couchsurfing so you can find out more about me here:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing to meet new people, learn about other cultures, and explore many places in person that I have seen videos, read books, or where my friends have shared adventures and experiences that I would like to also try first hand.

My first research led to to just find affordable AirBnB's to stay at, however, I do not think that would be as fun as staying with fellow travelers from around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I enjoy most music other than popular songs that you hear on the radio over and over again!

Movies - Comedies, Dramas, Documentaries

Books - The Alchemist, Non-Fiction books with life value.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I solo traveled to the Huasteca Potosini region in the San Luis Potosi in Mexico. I spent a week's time here exploring the jungle regions surround Cuidad Valles, Mexico. I was luck enough to meet a friend..Carla from Brazil. We traveled together to amazing rivers, bodies of water, waterfalls, and beautiful gardens in the region. I will be coming back here in the future and would like to spend at least one month here.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to Colorado... I can teach you how to snowboard,

I can work out with you or teach you about fitness as I am a certified personal trainer.

I am a certified Yoga Instructor, I would love to meditate and practice Yoga and breathing techniques with other people who are interested.

If we go to the beach, I can teach you how to surf. If we are in the city, and there is a skate park, we can have fun there too!

You get the idea....

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very easy going person. I would love to have authentic experiences abroad that I cannot enjoy here in the United States. If you are learning English, I would love to help you as much as I can during my stay! I am also interested in learning Spanish organically as opposed to from a book.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Panama

Countries I’ve Lived In
