About Me

I am a 25-year-old student from Nebraska. I spent 4 years in the army, with a year spent in South Korea, six months in Afghanistan, and most of the remaining time throughout Texas. I am currently going to school to get my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering while living it up in a house with my girlfriend and our cat. We are all one happy family!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend introduced me to couchsurfing in December, when we had a guest stay with us for a night. I love the idea, and love to meet new people, so it really wouldn't make sense to me to NOT do it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I played bass in a metal band, but you'll rarely find me listening to it. I love classic rock (Queen), 90's alternative (Collective Soul), and select indie rock (Death Cab for Cutie). I'll watch nearly any movie and get at least a bit of enjoyment out of it, but it depends on the mood I am in. A few of my favorites include Wet, Hot, American Summer, I Am Legend, and Shaolin Soccer. I listen to audiobooks while I'm doing anything where a physical book would be inappropriate, but also enjoy sitting down and reading, mostly science fiction and fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that I have amazingly NOT done, is see the ocean, though I've flown over it many times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn, and I also enjoy trying to teach people as much as possible in return. I'm really open-minded and I'm willing to learn anything and everything thrown at me. While most of the things I can teach people include random knowledge and facts, and maybe not have much applicability in every day life, I still have a few useful things to pass on.

Countries I’ve Visited

Afghanistan, Ireland, Japan, Kyrgyzstan

Countries I’ve Lived In
