ABOUT ME

I'm optimistic to a fault with an unfulfillable desire to see, do and experience all there is. I live by the ideal that people are the only thing that really matters in this world. You live your life for the time you are here and the only thing that is uniquely yours during that time are the relationships you form and the experiences you have with those people. That's what I value.

PHILOSOPHY

For the longest time, even currently at times, I struggled to find the meaning or the passion in life. It's become increasingly evident its the people. When I've lived with the philosophy of forming and nurturing relationships I've always been my happiest.

Personally, I've still got a lot to see and do. It's been said we live in a small world, but I've yet to do all there is to do and that will always motivate me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My goal for joining couchsurfing started to meet others who wanted to attend San Fermin in Pamplona.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never done it officially, but I've spent weeks on a couch in New York and several more in San Francisco. Random trips to cities all over the United States where vague acquaintances became new friends. I'm an easy couch guest. I'll take a couch, loveseat, floor, hammock... I can sleep anywhere, through anything and always enjoy it.

Hosted several surfers through the years - some on CS others friends from previous travels.

I love history, but more specifically I've found the personal stories of those who lived during the major events/time periods to be of far greater significance to me. Hopefully my travels will help me grow in that regard and gain a greater appreciate for the importance of the details.

Things I like:

- Summer evenings
- Water - ocean, lakes, rivers
- Moving - walking, riding on trains, bus - going anywhere

Dislikes:
- Hangovers
- Adam Sandler movies from last 5 years
- Fast food

I enjoy movies and music quite a bit. Books I love, but I read sporadically and its very specific. I've read a lot of Ernest Hemingway and a lot about him. He's not necessarily a hero, but his experiences and his writing has definitely had a great effect on my life.

Movies - I'm a huge movie fan. Casablanca (any Humphrey Bogart - although any real Bogart fan has a tough time with "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre), French Connection, Fight Club, Braveheart, Risky Business, 16 Candles (any John Hughes), Snatch, 500 days of summer, Sideways, Django Unchained, Blue Valentine, Step Brothers.
