About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live spontaneously and authentically as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm married to Emily, and our kids are aged 11 down to 2. Life is busy and fun, but it's great having kids to keep you on your toes!
I enjoy making my garden a beautiful place for our kids, for myself and visitors. I love sitting in a sunlit spot in a cosy cafe on a winter's day. I enjoy spontaneously cooking a Lemon curd tart at 10 o'clock at night. I prefer a walk in a gloomy moist forest to a day at the beach.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For over 5 years, my wife, kids and I shared our house with at least 2 (sometimes 5!) flatmates and/or couchsurfers. Including guests staying just one night, we've so far had 84 co-habitants.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Melbourne and Canberra. Currently seeking couchsurfing opportunities in my home town Sydney.

Interests

I'm interested in design, sustainability, healthy eating, existential psychotherapy & philosophy, languages and politics.
I speak French reasonably well, and would love to learn other languages one day.
I enjoy gardening, walks in the countryside, red wine & blue cheese, discovering hidden cafes and quaint pubs, reading/watching psychological thrillers, playing soccer.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Cure, The Killers, Churches, Gotye, U2, XX, The National, INXS

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The beauty of the simplicity, calmness and happiness of rural South Vietnamese people.

...Or being transported back in time in ancient fortified French mountain-top villages, where the hours trickle away and old men play petanque while sipping that intense aniseed liquor.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking, gardening, handyman jobs around the house..

Love getting to know new ways of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook stir fries, roasts, cheesecakes, souffles...

I enjoy chatting about all things philosophical, to do with nature and science, as well as things like gardening, Permaculture, urban design, self-sufficient living.

Happy to share a bottle of red wine with cheese too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Italy, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, France
