About Me
ABOUT ME
I think that if you want to get an accurate representation of anyone, you should ask their dearest friends as well as their strictest opponents. Prior roommates would probably also be good references since you never really know anyone until you live with them. My friends would say I am loving, authentic, open-minded, friendly, passionate, and silly, but with a love for deep conversations. My adversaries would probably say that I'm a perfectionist with unrealistically high expectations and a tendency to be brutally and bitingly honest if you really piss me off. Roommates would probably tease me for hating to take out the trash but being ridiculously anal about the dishes. But they might also remember late nights gabbing and laughing with a roll of cookie dough and two spoons. I also enjoy building forts and crafting. I have a deeply reflective and serious side contrasted with a very playful child-like enthusiasm about things that really make me happy...like playgrounds and puppies.
Interests
Filling my days with things that give me meaning and life is really important to me. I spend a lot of time reflecting about myself, my relationships, how I experience the world, and how others experience the world. I love engaging in relationship with people who are very different from me, even when it is uncomfortable because they challenge my perspective of love and of who I want to be.
I also spend a lot of time with children because I teach theatre in various children's theatres and community centers. Working with kids gives me so much life and I am constantly amazed by them. The power of the arts in the hands of children is disarming and stunningly beautiful.
I've explored many different hobbies and enjoy so many things - yoga, crafting, sewing, aerials, tumbling - name it and I've probably tried it. My most recent endeavor is to become a proficient surfer and so far I am LOVING it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not a particularly religious person, but I do believe that the spirit of the divine is moving in each person and I try to pay attention to that movement in myself and in others. Moments when I have been able to truly sense that divinity have left me awestruck and they are always much more simple and sudden than I expected. But I've also traveled and seen some incredible places. Greece is my favorite of all the places I've been because of the incredible history and longevity of that culture. Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I love how kind the Greeks are to their stray animals! I've also been swimming with dolphins twice and am absolutely obsessed with those creatures. Once, in Colombia, I taught theatre to 8-year-olds in the middle of a street. The fact that I managed that at all left me awestruck and incredibly humbled.
Teach, Learn, Share
At some point I would love to learn to play the guitar I've owned for 5 years. I'll give voice lessons in return. :)
I'm the type of artist that believes everyone is an artist at heart and I have loads of paints, paper, and instruments to play with!
