I'm new to this, so go easy on me! I'm a father (with part time kids), positive and an outgoing creative type. I have a loving partner who got me into Couch surfing. I'm a digital artist by day but like to sell landscape paintings on my down time too. I cycle, hike the local mountains, run in the local Hash run groups and try to explore local and far off places with my partner, Dorota (also on couch surfing).

My place is in Alyth, a small town just on the southern border of the Cairngorms, the UKs largest national park. If it's Scottish mountains and coastal scenery you need with a dash of civilisation, this is a good area to be.

I have beds, a couch (that is also a bed), a couch that is just a couch and a kitchen and bathroom to share.

There's a lovely garden with a great view overlooking the local countryside (I'm on a hill so the view is a plus).

I can share local info, guides on where to visit and where to see the many cool sights. There are awesome walks that start the minute you walk out my front door.

My partner introduced me to this, so thanks go to her for showing me the concept, but I'm on a quest to get more social and to get more active too. I have a house with room to spare most days too, so it seems a good fit.

Music would be movie soundtracks for background music while I work (orchestral, from the likes of Hanz Zimmer or John Williams) and generally popular pop now and again. I'm a dad, so obviously, I have no musical tastes (according to my kids). I've accepted that now!

Movies are a wide category, but anything that fills me with joy and makes me cry with happiness are always going to be popular. Historically, I've been a sci fi and fantasy nut, so the usual bunch there, but Disney musicals seem to do the trick too. Anything, as long as it's not too much of a downer! Not movies, but Game of Thrones, Stranger Things.... that kind of thing is fun sometimes.

Books.... Big fan of Robin Hobb books
