ABOUT ME

I am told I'm laid back but I am passionate about the things I care about. I don't like being told what to do but will listen to your advice and make my own decision. I respect different cultures, religions and beliefs, although that doesn't mean I have to agree with them.I'm not always on time, but I'll make the effort. I'm not a big fan of personal descriptions, I'd prefer you to make up your own mind. I try to keep an open mind and I'm really enjoying opening up my 'couch' again even when there's no room for our cat to swing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been on Couchsurfing for a bit. I officially got going about 5/6 years ago whilst living in Thailand. Now I am back in the UK with my son. Always looking to grow and learn and share experiences with good people.
Recently reconnected with the the CS experience in Toulouse, France. It was enjoyable and makes me wish I was free to go travelling more. My time will come again, I'm sure. In the meantime, anyone passing through Macclesfield is welcome to crash at mine for a night or 3.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Guam, hosted in Bangkok for a while and went to CS meetings there. More recently did a bit in France.

Include:-TRAVEL: Work or play or a healthy mix of both.Still want to go to India, Mainland China, South America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada... FOOD:Home cooked food is still the best. I love Thai (obviously), Italian, Mexican, Indian and Chinese... Smoked salmon & crème fraîche & black pepper on blinis with champagne is perfect for Christmas morning (or any morning for that matter). Scotch whiskeys always work but I think this Bison Grass vodka that my guests have brought me will too!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Delivered pizza in Kathmandu, Climbed the mountain to the Tiger's Nest to pray, haggled round Angkor Wat , living in Thailand is also a blast - danced around the temple during a monk's initiation.
Skied some pretty cool mountains in my time too - been caught in an avalanche which took both skis.

I am always learning and happy to share my discoveries with people who are interested.I am still learning Thai though my level is good enough to teach most non-Thais.Living in SE Asia for 4 years and travelling to Nepal and Bhutan I am interested in the study and practice of Buddhism.
