Hello!

My name is Stijn de Boer, a student from the Netherlands, currently living in Arnhem. I'm in school for becoming a sports instructor, sports like climbing, mountainbiking and all the good stuff. I do this because I love to be in nature, and I dont like to hang around passively. This is a lifestyle I want to inspire people to adopt, and to travel the world isn't a bad thing either.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to meet new people and start new friendships. Furthermore, I think this will definitely ease my travels, and i always find it very inspiring to see how other people live, and try to learn from every experience gained in this way.

Interests

Of course I like adventurous sports like mountainbiking, kayaking and climbing. I like to make music with other nice people, i play guitar, piano and i like to sing.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music varies from moment to moment, i can enjoy classical music as much as music like techno, funk, disco or rock. If the music is right, i can dance till dawn.
Some artists: Solomun, Tapesh, Nicolas Jaar, Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Milt Buckner, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Alt-J, Led Zeppelin etc.

Movies aren't really my thing, but i do have some favorites. The Silence of the Lambs, the Waking Life, the Great Dictator. I can enjoy a good old happy Disney movie from time to time.

My favorite book is the Discovery of Heaven, by Harry Mülisch, a very great Dutch author. He is my favorite author too. I also like Franz Kafka, Paul Theroux and Paulo Coelho
