ABOUT ME

Hi there! Nice to meet you! Here's a small piece of text about myself: I'm quite a creative person. I like photography, graphic design, writing, going to art exhibitions etc. I am working at a freelance communications advisor and event manager. In my spare time I love to go out motorboating in Leiden or Amsterdam, reading books, barbequeing, drinking, dancing, making fun, swimming etc etc.
Oh yeah, what's maybe good to know is that I'm a vegetarian - but not a fundamentalist one... I respect everyone's choices in life :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last year I couchsurfed in Oslo, St Petersburg and Berlin. Great experiences! Also, I hosted couchsurfers twice at my place in Leiden, one from Russia and one from Germany. I think it's important and rewarding to return the favour! I look forward to extending the couchsurfing experience and strengthening the network!

Interests

Going out sailing with my motorboats, swimming, snowboarding, playing golf, hiking, concerts, dancing, having drinks...

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot: I love Russian literature, Turgeniev, Gogol, Gonstjarev etc but also modern novels, thrillers, anything well written, funny or smart.

I like almost all kinds of music, but my favorites are Lou Reed / The Velvet Underground, Branvan3000 ("Couchsurfer", "Drinking in LA"), Morcheeba, Magnapop, etc and I also enjoy some good alternative electro/tekno - Aphex Twin styly or louder :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2000, I lived in Nice, South of France - amazing times
In 2002, I went to Russia for the first time all alone - quite scary :) but great
From 2002 to 2010 I went to Lithuania very often. Great country, nice culture
This year I drove around with my new camper van through France. Very cool experience, camping in the wild, right in the middle of the champagne region, in the Alpes, centre of Nice....
