About Me

* The reason to why I am not currently accepting guests is that I have no permanent stay in London. However, I hope this will work itself out in the coming month. :)

Growing up in the cold and distanced North, moving to the Netherlands and suddenly finding myself living in a dorm sparked an interest in the people surrounding me. I lived in the multicultural Maastricht for two years, yet everyday I am amazed by what people have to say; whether it'd be simple anecdotes or lifechanging experiences. This is essentially what motivated me to finally overcome my fear, and to create this counchsurfing account. Because I want to take every opportunity I get (carpe diem etc) to get to know humanity individual by individual, story by story.

Music, Movies, and Books

My playlist is the essence of an existential crisis that never truly passed: entire albums of Mumford & Sons, interrupted by rap in languages I can't understand and samba that force me to move my hips that no Scandinavian can. In terms of movies and literature I will devour anything that is recommended to me. Wes Anderson's movies have an assigned seat in my heart as well as Marguerite Dura's novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A friend and I got dropped off a bus in Finale-Emilia, a small village north of Bologna in Italy. We left technology behind, and from there we hiked 200km along Via Degli Dei til Florence; all in 10 days. Neither of us spoke Italian, yet we depended upon strangers for directions and safe grounds to sleep. I have never been as convinced of humanity goodness as after this trip.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Awkward attempts at puns, a ridiculous interest in pretty much anything and of course; a listening ear (+ a seven-minute long dance-choreography to ABBA's mega-medley).
