About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Publish my first book of poetry

ABOUT ME

I'm a poet who writes about the mysteries at the heart of life. I'm an easy going friendly guy and a quiet night owl. I've been practicing yoga and meditation for many years. I previously worked as a Web professional for large organizations including the National Center for Atmospheric Research but have left all that to be a writer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to host and be hosted. Couchsurfing is such a better experience than the alienation of hotels and motels. You get to meet cool, generous people and feel part of a community. I'm currently traveling so I can't accept guests at the moment.

Interests

I thrive on conversation about what it means to be passionately alive and guided by the inner voice that is urging us to find and share our unique gifts. One of my favorite ways to commune with Nature is to hike along mountains or coastlines. I'm a huge dog lover, cats are cool too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Varanasi, India on Shivaratri and walked along the banks of the Ganges under a full moon amidst throngs of worshippers feeling the ancient hum of this city that has been around for thousands of years. I felt my connection to yoga and Hinduism extend beyond this life to an eternal link with the spirit and land of India.

I have looked into the eyes of numerous living saints and seen the incredible mirror of loving awareness look back at me, calling me deeper into my own nature.

I was present for the home births of all 3 of my best friend's sons. I will never forget the palpable sensation of a light going on in the room as a new soul enters the world, or the tears that came so naturally at the utter beauty of a woman giving everything she has to birth a new being.
