About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hitch-hiking from Germany to India. No public or paid transport allowed.

ABOUT ME

I like stuff. Stuff and things. Whatdoyoucallthems are quite good as well. Mostly stuff...

I'm a guy. As you can see. I did train as an actor in the wonderful city of Glasgow, but I found out that I wasn't any good. Then I was a homeless support worker. I wasn't homeless, I supported people who were. Now technically I am homeless, as I sold everything I owned and my current address is the world.

After the passing of my wonderful parents and faithful family hound, I booked a one-way ticket to San Francisco and I've not been home since. I have a twin sister in London and numerous ramshackle acquaintances scattered around the planet. We shall call these people 'friends'.

At the moment I am on some crazy errand to hitch-hike to India for charity. If you're that way inclined, you can follow my adventures here:

www.lookingforstu.com

I'm a total nerd, I try to play the guitar in an attempt to pick up girls and I like a drink.

Batman could have Superman in a fight.

PHILOSOPHY

Its all about the experience. We get one kick at the ball, I don't intend to waste it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I did have a couch. It was nice. It was one of those black ones that you stick to on a hot day. That could be sorted though with some nice throws and matching cushions.

One day I will go back to hosting (which I much prefer) but right now I'm out trotting the globe, so any couches available would be most welcome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love the hosting side of CS. It made me feel my otherwise inadequate self has been granted lots of power...POWER I TELL YOU...MWAH HAHAHAHAHAH...!

'cough'

Apologies. So, hosted a lot, surfed a little. I have a feeling that is all about to change.

Interests

Films, music, playing guitar, travel, books, reading and writing poetry, getting drunk in a park, partying with a load of people I don't know, sport, (Liverpool FC) throwing shapes to some dirty techno while completely hammered...the usual suspects really...Did I mention I like stuff?

Music, Movies & Books

Far too many to mention. Would take me too long and I can't be bothered. Quick sample, three of each...

Withnail and I
The Wicker Man
LA Confidential

Elbow
Radiohead
The Stone Roses

His Dark Materials
Shakespeare
Shantaram

Any kind of music except for country and Rnb. Oh and the horrible squeeky voiced nonsense you hear chavs playing on the back of buses.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Moscow: I would go back in a heartbeat.
Colombia: Life.
Machu Picchu: Emotional.
Croatia: Home when I finally stop.
Bolivia: A street dog trying to have sex with thin air. Utterly hilarious.
Ukraine: Visiting Chernobyl

Teach, Learn, Share

Don't judge people. Say please and thank you. Believe in yourself and others. Smile. Laugh. Don't take things too seriously. Cook and eat lots. When you peel an onion, to stop the tears, put a spoon in your mouth. Hand sanitiser cleans Chuck Taylor converse to shine like new. Never lead with the queen pawn. I'm not wearing any underwear.

What I Can Share With Hosts
